Keeping Your Club Safe??: Phase II Reopening

Dear Member,

It has been nearly two weeks since our Club reopened, and it has been encouraging to see Members enjoying the facilities once again.

As mentioned in last week’s e-mail, from June 20 we will implement Phase II of our three-phase reopening plan. This follows the Tokyo government’s lifting of its COVID-19 alert, indicating that the spread of the virus is presently under control.

Some of our “new normal” safety guidelines will remain, but we have restored more of the valued services you have come to expect from your Club.

  1. With all due respect TACMaven is uninformed. Masks are only required in politicized US states. Masks are without scientific merit in a country with such a low incidence rate and with a virus with such low mortality and morbity. Protecting the vulnerable. Makes sense. Letting people live their lives also makes sense. Masks are NOT required in Japan (except in TAC). If you are afraid DO NOT COME. By the way I would respect you more if you used your name. Mark A. 2. So many selfish comments. Masks are being required just about everywhere in the USA where the local governments are being safe, so just where one and put up with it. And places where masks are not being used are have a huge increase in Covid. I hate wearing a mask, but will put up with it for the duration. So far, TAC has been ahead of the curve in managing through this crisis and members have been safe. Everyone knows Covid is a pandemic and we all grieve for our former life styles, but until Covid is resolved we all have to do our part. If you don’t like it, just resign, nobody forcing anybody to be a member.

  3. No common sense. Three guys are deciding in isolation. They really need to open up to member views or be removed.

  4. All part of the campaign initiative to bring end to clubs and every other place that people want to physically congregate…

  5. I believe TAC is the only location in Tokyo if not Japan where masks are required. Kindly suggest a re-evaluation of this policy. Even police are not required to ware masks.

  6. I can’t tell the difference between the phases. I still need to be muzzled in a mask and make a reservation to use the fitness center. That is not exactly open and normal.

  7. Amazing! Who is making these decisions devoid of logic and science? They still want people to wear masks? Beginnng to think this board of governors are working for the inept governor or NY.
