They’re Back At It- Trying To Raise Long Term TAC Member Dues

It’s official.  Despite lowering initiation fees for non-Japanese potential members, the TAC board is again talking about raising monthly dues on the long term members.  What are your thoughts on this?

  1. Most long term members were against it as it broke the promise that long term people who paid to get in would not be penalised for the rebuild. The new/short term new folks who got in on the cheap didn’t care obviously. Hence the reported 80% most members think.

  2. This looks like a bait and switch to me. I know many people that joined TAC on the premise that they would be grandfathered. They paid higher fees at the time in part because it would cost them less in the long run. Are there really that many members that this would apply to? Given that the number of long term members will go down every year, if it is a simple vote, it will happen at some point. Looks unfair to me, especially since we were supporting TAC during the ‘lean years’.

    Anyone else have any comments?
